BEIJING, June 25 -- After working for years as a narrator at the Nanhu Revolutionary Memorial Museum in the eastern Chinese city of Jiaxing, Qian Siwen feels she now shoulders a greater responsibility in disseminating stories of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

"We can feel national development and social progress all around us," said Qian. "I always believe that I can make my narration more vivid and compelling."

The 29-year-old said that her job is to tell the stories of the Party. "I hope to convey stories of the Party and the Red Boat to a wider audience." The Red Boat refers to a historical boat in Jiaxing, where the CPC's first national congress concluded in 1921.

"The CPC has made remarkable achievements due to its unchanged original aspiration and firm ideals," she said.

After decades of robust economic growth, China has accomplished the arduous task of eliminating absolute poverty and is set to secure a great victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, achieving its first centenary goal this year.

Like her peers, Qian has full confidence in the Party.

"I believe we young people should follow the Party by forming lofty ideals and integrating personal development into that of the country," she said. "We should enhance our abilities, fulfill the mission this era has entrusted us with, and realize the value of our lives."

Huang Jiayun, a 29-year-old farmer in Xianie Village in the city of Zhangshu, east China's Jiangxi Province, shares Qian's confidence.

After working in cities for years, Huang returned to his rural hometown in 2016 and acquired over 26 hectares of farmland for large-scale modern agriculture.

"The central government has rolled out policies for land contracts and the development of modern agriculture," Huang said.

Unlike his father's generation, Huang has purchased unmanned or large agricultural machinery for production.

His spraying drone can each day cover over 6.6 hectares of farmland in just six hours. The whole farm can be covered in four to five days, said Huang, who received drone flight training in 2017.

"My dream is to realize scientific operations for the whole farming process -- crop planting, field management and product sales -- to make agricultural production more modern and intelligent," said Huang.

He believes agriculture will be a promising industry and farming will become an attractive profession.

Great changes have taken place in the village in recent years, all of which are attributed to the positive policies of the Party and state, he said.

"I have strong confidence in the Party and, under the leadership of the Party, the countryside will certainly have a brighter future and we will live better lives. I will continue to pursue my life's dream in the green fields," said Huang.

The Party has brought great changes to every corner of the country, helping more people feel a sense of gain and boosting their confidence in the Party.

"I have witnessed great changes in the neighborhood as well as across the country under the leadership of the Party," said Ma Yue, a community Party chief in the eastern Chinese city of Yantai. Ma has been engaged in the management of community affairs since graduating from university in 2007.

China joined the World Trade Organization in 2001, ushering in a new era of opening-up and great changes, said Ma. In 2003, high-rise apartment buildings began to shoot up in the area, with more streetlights installed, more bus services launched, and more residents buying cars to replace bicycles, she said.

Every working day, Ma rides her electric bike around the Xingfu (literally meaning happiness) neighborhood, which has over 4,300 households. "My duty is to find and fix issues and our goal is to achieve happiness for every household."
